The Artwork

This color photograph was taken in northern Vietnam at a village market in fall of 2004. The photograph was originally included in an exhibition entitled, "The Living Cloth-Woven Treasures of Southeast Asia." The image then found itself on the cover of several magazines and became well-associated with the textile exhibition as well as the artist.

The Artist

Jane Iverson is an Oklahoman who has become well-known for her photographic documentation of Southeast Asia. Formerly a Bangkok-based photojournalist, Iverson traveled extensively and documented Asian life through unique cultural events. Iverson's work has been featured in solo and group exhibitions in California, Oklahoma, and Thailand. Her photographs have been published in numerous periodicals including Lookeast and Sawaddi Magazine. Her first book, "Celebrating Thai Style-Festivals of Thailand," was published in 2007. Her work has a strong worldwide following and can be found in many corporate and private collections including Her Majesty Queen of Thailand and Afgani Prince Sardar Abdullah Afig Khan Ratig.
