Leadership Arts applications available in November

Since 2008 the Oklahoma Arts Council has brought together 30 individuals from throughout the state each year to participate in our Leadership Arts program. The goal of the program is to cultivate and equip community arts leaders and advocates. During four two-day sessions in the spring, class members learn more about the arts' role in strengthening local economies, enriching quality-of-life and improving education. Many Leadership Arts graduates are now actively working to improve their communities through the arts.

Applications for the 2013 Leadership Arts class will be available in November. To learn more about the program, visit our Leadership Arts page.

Wilson Hurley's art ushers in fall season

Four large works of art by renowned painter Wilson Hurley hang in the second floor rotunda of the Oklahoma state Capitol to celebrate Oklahoma's diverse landscape and varied weather. Dedicated in 2002, each painting in Hurley's Visions of the Land: The Centennial Suite depicts a different corner of the state.
