Arts Education
Support quality arts education for all students in every Oklahoma school.
Grants:
- Support quality classroom instruction in schools characterized by: depth of instruction, development of aesthetic discernment, cultivation of creative autonomy, experiential learning, study of the classics and models of arts excellence.
- Support K-12 arts education program development and implementation in schools or school districts consistent with the beliefs and recommendations stated in the White Paper “Arts Education: this we believe.”
- Support arts education research and development in order to improve arts education in schools throughout the state.
Staff Services:
- Develop programs to train, assess and certify teaching artists throughout the state.
- Provide on-going assistance to and maintain dialogue with non-profit community organizations with arts education programs going into schools for their continued growth and improvement.
Public Information:
- Disseminate guiding principles to schools, arts organizations, and others providing arts education.
- Disseminate program evaluation methods in arts education for continuous program improvement to schools, arts organizations, and others providing arts education.
Partnerships:
- Cultivate strategic partnerships to leverage and effect systemic change in support of quality arts education in public schools.
