Kelly Thomas-Sanders has served on Oklahoma Arts Council’s Artists-in-Residence roster since 1991 and has been involved with more than 100 productions developed by the children with whom she has worked. A residency with Kelly teaches students that there are many artists involved with theatre - writers, actors, designers and many more, showing students that there may be a place for them in the arts. She inspires the seeds of creativity by offering them new ways to express a story. Students may take different roles in her residency, working together on distinct aspects of play production. Some may write a play as a group through improvisation, while others create scenery, props and costumes to create a performance for their school and parents.
