State Capitol Galleries
The Oklahoma Arts Council supports the work of professional Oklahoma artists by showcasing their work in three galleries in the State Capitol: the North, East and Governor’s Gallery. Curated by the Oklahoma Arts Council, the gallery spaces feature temporary exhibitions that rotate approximately every 60 days.

Jack Bryan
Fingers and Brushes: Improvisational Landscapes
During his high school years, Jack Bryan, explored Oklahoma with adventures to Otter Creek in Tillman County, the Red River south of Tipton and Elmer, Quartz Mountain, and the Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge near his current home in Lawton. These experiences helped him develop a love of nature and understand the magnetic power of landscape. The works included in this exhibit, titled Fingers and Brushes: Improvisational Landscapes, express Bryan’s continued adoration of nature and the process of creating.

Samantha Lamb
Lion, Light, Lamb:
The Perpetual Picnic Part II
Smantha Lambs' exhibit, titled Lion, Light, Lamb: The Perpetual Picnic Part II, is inspired by the peaceful and beautiful scenes of rural life. For each photograph, Lamb stages the scene and waits patiently for the luminous morning light along the Oklahoma horizon. Lamb’s imagery combines the natural beauty of the landscape with sentimental objects which remind her of home, such as pocket watches, freshly gathered eggs, banjos, patchwork quilts and homegrown peaches.

Jeff Dodd
On the Road: Midwestern Landscapes
Jeff Dodd regularly travels from his home in northwestern Oklahoma to southwestern Kansas. His long journeys, which span 800 miles of prairieland, provide this self-described “obsessive painter” countless hours of inspiration. It was during these drives that each of the oil paintings included in this exhibit, titled On the Road: Midwestern Landscapes, was conceived.
