Local Government Challenge Grant Criteria
Criteria and Review Procedure
Awards are based on the following criteria:
- Artistic quality of the organizations supported by the city/county/town
- Responsiveness to community need
- Demonstrate effective partnerships with arts organization
The Council reviews each application for completeness and eligibility and takes final action on the application. Awards are contingent upon written confirmation from the local government that the matching funds have been appropriated.
Acknowledgment
The Oklahoma Arts Council receives funds from the State of Oklahoma
and the National Endowment for the Arts.
Organizations are required to credit the Oklahoma Arts Council and
the NEA by using the OKLAHOMA ARTS COUNCIL
logo and NEA logo in all printed programs, advertising, news releases,
promotion and publicity related to funded projects. A sample
press release is also available. Failure to credit the Oklahoma
Arts Council and National Endowment for the Arts jeopardizes future
funding.
Grant recipients are required to contact their legislators and express
appreciation for legislative support of the Oklahoma Arts Council.

Final Report
Local government entities must submit a Final Report prior to June
1st . Failure to submit final reports may jeopardize future funding
opportunities. Please review the information needed for the final report
as soon as possible to facilitate the collection of the necessary information.
IN ADDITION:
- Proof of payment to the recipient art organization(s)
of the MATCHING FUNDS must be submitted to the Oklahoma Arts Council
before OAC grants can be distributed to the Local Government. There
is no DUE date. verification
of payment of the MATCHING FUNDS must be submitted no later than June 1st of the following year.
Grant funds will not be issued until verification of payment is received.
- Proof of payment to the recipient art organization(s) of the OAC GRANT FUNDS must also be submitted to the Oklahoma Arts Council no later than June 1, as well as the electronic final report. Failure to submit verification payment of grant funds to the recipient art organization will jeopardize funding of future applications. The Oklahoma Arts Council reserves the right to audit any grant application and disbursement of funds.
