Miranda Gilbert
Miranda Gilbert joined the Oklahoma Arts Council in September 2023 as Director of Community Arts and Workforce Programs. Gilbert has over 15 years of experience in program management, marketing, and outreach for local, regional, and state programs in community and economic development including arts, tourism, and humanities. Her background includes county emergency management and state cybersecurity. She is also an award-winning writer and photo journalist. As a volunteer, Gilbert served as an actress, director, grant writer, sound technician, box office manager, marketing director, and president in community theatre. She has assisted with grant management and production of festivals and events over several years. Gilbert graduated with a Bachelor of Science in psychology with a minor in art from Oklahoma Panhandle State University, where she was a founding member of the university's Images Art Club

The Creative Placemaking Exchange is an open forum for community developers to share resources, innovative tactics, and ideas for creating spaces where people can gather and experience culture. Whether you are interested in cultural districts, public art, or creative placemaking, this session is for you. This lively discussion will provide participants a place to ask questions, share feedback on best practices, and connect with a statewide network of creative community developers.
