Introduction to Art
Before beginning the interdisciplinary journey of teaching Oklahoma History through visual art, it is important for the students to develop a foundation of basic art knowledge. Here is a guide :
Visiting the Oklahoma State Capitol
The Oklahoma State Capitol is open to the public year-round (closed Christmas). Galleries are free and open to the public.
Visitors and schools can arrange guided tours of the building through the visitor center operated by the Oklahoma Tourism and Recreation Department. Please contact (800) 652-6552 to schedule a tour.
