Artists, Others Invited to Regional Networking Forums

Artists, arts managers, art students and others are invited to participate in one of two upcoming regional networking forums. The Oklahoma Arts Council is partnering with the Oklahoma Visual Arts Coalition (OVAC) to present forums in Tahlequah on April 14, and in Alva on May 5. Read more...

Leadership Arts in Ardmore

Members of the 2011 Leadership Arts program were in Ardmore on March 23 and 24 for the second of four monthly sessions. Session two focused on the arts' impact on the economy, and included a panel of local community members who talked about the impact of the arts in Ardmore. Read more...

Local Government Challenge Grant Deadline

The deadline to apply for the Local Government Challenge Grant is May 15. Through the program, local governments may request matching funds of up to $5,000 for support of 501(c)(3) arts organizations. Read more...

PR360 Program Selects Three Area Arts Organizations

Three Oklahoma City area nonprofit arts organizations have been selected for a public service project by the OKC chapter of PRSA. Through the program, the Fine Arts Institute of Edmond, Pollard Theatre and Oklahoma Shakespeare in the Park will receive free professional public relations consultations during a workshop luncheon on April 20. Congratulations to the three organizations selected for the project!

NewsOK Features 'Teaching with Capitol Art'

NewsOK video host, Angi Bruss recently spoke with our Curator of Education and Capitol Galleries, Alyson Atchison about the Oklahoma Arts Council's Teaching with Capitol Art program and the availability of travel reimbursement for schools to visit the Capitol.

Stillwater Junior High students were on hand learning about Oklahoma art and history and visiting with their legislators.
