Oklahoma State Capitol Galleries Selection
Oklahoma State Capitol Galleries
The Oklahoma Arts Council supports the work of professional Oklahoma artists by showcasing their work in three galleries in the Oklahoma State Capitol. Exhibitions exemplify the outstanding and diverse artistic talent of the people of Oklahoma while enriching lives and promoting public interest and understanding of the arts. Exhibitions in the North, East and Governor’s galleries rotate every 60 days and are viewed by thousands of people from around the world who work in and tour the historic building. Artists interested in exhibiting their work may submit their portfolio using the form below. Submission of a portfolio does not guarantee an exhibition.

Artist Selection
Factors taken into consideration in the selection of artists include the artist’s connection to the state, professional status, physical nature of artwork in relation to exhibit space, and statewide representation. Artistic excellence and artistic merit are the criteria by which artwork will be considered, taking into account general standards of decency and respect for the diverse beliefs and values of the people of Oklahoma. Oklahoma State Capitol gallery exhibitions feature artwork in various mediums.
Portfolio Submission Guidelines
Submission of a portfolio does not guarantee exhibition. If an artist is invited to exhibit in the galleries, the Oklahoma Arts Council selects and curates the artwork in the exhibition. In addition, the Council provides gallery space, installs the artist's work inside the gallery, arranges lighting, writes text panels and labels, and distributes a news release based on information provided by the artist. Prices may not be displayed and sales cannot be conducted inside the Oklahoma State Capitol.
Portfolios will be reviewed by the Curator of Capitol Exhibitions and presented to the Capitol Preservation Committee on an annual rolling basis for exhibition consideration.
