The Artwork

This beautiful landscape with a bare tree, red and gold blooms, and dark sky was created through the process of felting. In this process, the artist uses friction and moisture to attach natural fibers through repeated motion.

The Artist

Pamela Husky has been an active participant in the Oklahoma arts community for many years as an artist, teacher, volunteer, and patron. Before her retirement from the University of Central Oklahoma faculty to pursue her art full time, she directed the formation arts program including weaving and fiber arts. Her thesis topic for her master’s degree at University of Oklahoma was on the “Artworks in A.P. Murrah Building,” the federal building which was bombed in 1995 in Oklahoma City. She has received many awards and exhibited across the country, including Las Vegas, Colorado Springs, Salt Lake City, Flagstaff, and Albuquerque. Her works are included in corporate and private collections in numerous states. Husky was an Artist-in-Residence with Oklahoma Arts Council from 1988-1997. She has been featured in such publications as the Smithsonian’s Native Peoples and Oklahoma Today.
