Let’s Animate! Learn to Create a Short Animated Film

Curriculum Summary

Create a short animated film on your phone!

Skills covered will include an introduction to all of the following: research and development, scriptwriting, storyboarding, cinematography, production, design (set and prop decoration and design), character development, directing, animating, and editing.

Materials Needed: Dedicated space to work for the entire six weeks. Needs at least three feet square of table space, and this area will probably need to stay set up between classes.

Working cell phone with video capturing capability and a decent amount of memory. Ability to download free software that is 150mb.

Software: Stop Motion Studio (there are both free and paid versions - we are using the free version with this course, but if you want to purchase the “pro” version, it is $5 for iPhone and Android, and $10 for computer. It comes with enhanced features). Software link: https://www.cateater.com

Curriculum Sessions
