Oklahoma Arts Disaster Resource Page

The Oklahoma Arts Council offers the Oklahoma Arts Disaster Resource Page for artists and arts and cultural organizations affected by Oklahoma weather-related and other disasters. Oklahoma Arts Council staff is available to connect those in Oklahoma's arts community with national, state, and local resources that may offer aid in response to the loss of individual or organizational artistic and/or cultural assets.

Federal Resources

FEMA (Federal Emergency Management Agency) - coordinates the federal government's role in helping Americans prepare for, prevent, respond to and recover from disasters

U.S. Small Business Administration - provides low-interest disaster loans to help businesses and homeowners recover from declared disasters

U.S. Department of Labor - disaster unemployment assistance for individuals who have become unemployed as a direct result of a Presidentially declared major disaster

Statewide Resources

Oklahoma Museums Association's Disaster Response Network - members of this network have been trained in disaster response and recovery of museum collections

Oklahoma Visual Arts Coalition - resources and support for Oklahoma visual artists

The Red Dirt Relief Fund - provides a safety net of critical assistance for Oklahoma music people in times of need.

Other Resources

The Actors Fund - offers a financial assistance for performing arts professionals in response to catastrophic events

The Adolph & Esther Gottlieb Foundation - emergency grant program for qualified painters, printmakers, and sculptors whose needs are the result of an unforeseen, catastrophic incident

ArtsReady - an online emergency preparedness service by and for arts/cultural nonprofits, provides arts organizations with customized business continuity plans for post-crisis sustainability

CERF+ (The Artists Safety Net) - serves artists who work in craft disciplines, providing services that include education programs, advocacy, network building and emergency relief

The Joan Mitchell Foundation - emergency grant program for visual artists

National Coalition for Arts' Preparedness & Emergency Response - a voluntary task force of national, regional, state and local arts organizations, public agencies, and foundations that helps ensure that artists, arts/cultural organizations, cultural funders, and arts businesses have the capacity and ability to respond effectively to disasters and emergencies affecting the arts and culture sector.

MusiCares - provides assistance to musicians including musical instrument replacement for musicians affected by disasters
