2021 Oklahoma Arts Conference

Embracing The Dawn Together, Kandinsky Style - A Collaborative Work of Art

Wednesday, Oct 27th: 12:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Thursday, Oct 28th: 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Friday, October 29th 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Room: Studio
Location: Blue Rabbit Pottery & Art Studio – 508 S 3rd St, 74401 , OK, 74401

Using Kadinksy’s style as an inspiration, conference guests will have the opportunity to participate and contribute to a large scale work of art. The circle, which is prominent in Kandinsky’s work, resembles the sun rising on a new day. The circle also represents togetherness, unity, and things coming full circle.

How it works:

Simply stop by the Blue Rabbit Pottery & Art Studio during the open hours:

Wednesday, October 27: 12:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Thursday, October 28: 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Friday, October 29: 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Various materials, textiles, and mediums will be available for participants to use in making their own interpretive 5”x5” square painting. The smaller paintings will become part of a larger work of art.

Artist Louise Bishop will be onsite to provide instructions and guidance.

The activity will take anywhere from 20 minutes to an hour for each person to create.

The final work of art will serve as a reminder of the Oklahoma Arts Conference gathering and the collective support we shared during this time together.

Louise Bishop is co-owner of the Blue Rabbit Pottery & Art Studio, which she opened after working as a children’s art instructor for many years. She is an artist as well as a children’s book illustrator.
