Oklahoma symbols, such as Osage shield from the state flag, the state bird, animal, and tree help illustrate the story of Oklahoma in the mural Beyond the Centennial. In addition, symbolism found in color and expression assists in the story. These activities and discussion points will help student explore and understand symbolism.
