This activity will introduce students to the life and work of notable Oklahoma women through five works of art in the Capitol Art Collection including Kate Barnard, Dr. Angie Debo, Miss Alice Robertson, Mrs. Lamar Looney, and Rep. Bessie S. McColgin.Activity: Three-Dimensional Portraits (PDF)
Students will examine the sculpture of Kate Barnard and create a portrait bust of a partner. Students will then discuss the sculpting techniques used to communicate likeness and expression in a three-dimensional bust portrait.
