Gold Urn
by David Greer
Stoneware
Dimensions: 10.75 x 11.125
Purchased through a National Endowment for the Arts grant, 1972
The Artwork
This stoneware bowl is banded with repeated spiraling forms. With a dark brown glaze, this exterior decoration provides a rhythmic focal point for the gold glazed bowl. The interior of the vessel is glazed with dark blue hue, which contrasts significantly with the bowl's exterior, emphasizing its potential volume.
