Bio:
Marshall Moses emphasizes the transformative power of creative expression as a path towards student growth, mental health awareness, and community engagement. Moses’ innovative residencies combine literary and performing arts, adding up to a dynamic and enriching cultural experience that fosters collaboration and shared growth. Moses describes the transition from his previous career to the arts as a significant positive turning point in his life. He seeks to use arts education to foster that experience for others.
In a typical residency with Moses, students learn creative writing, songwriting, spoken word performance, and/or musical performance, building skills and learning about arts-related careers while also practicing creative expression. His residencies at Tulsa MET School and the bART Center for Music have been met with resounding acclaim by students, school staff, and program coordinators. At Tulsa MET, Moses enlisted area music producers and Tulsa-area rappers and hip-hop artists to assist students in creating their own hip-hop opera.
