Cornerstone Conversations

Meeting paricipants

Cornerstone Conversations is a series of listening sessions co-hosted by the Oklahoma Arts Council and communities across the state that will take place beginning in fall 2024. Staff of the Oklahoma Arts Council will travel the state, hosting sessions designed to empower Oklahomans in all communities to partner with our agency in creating shared goals for leveraging the arts to meet needs statewide. As we listen and learn of the unique visions communities have for themselves through the arts, those visions will serve as important building blocks in the creation of our 2026-2030 strategic plan.

Cornerstone Conversation sessions are co-facilitated by the Oklahoma Arts Council and members of each local community. Attendees participate in individual exercises and small group discussion and will be given opportunities to provide written feedback. Sessions will include a 30-minute networking break with light refreshments.

Learn About Our Strategic Planning Process

Every five years, the Oklahoma Arts Council embarks on a process of creating a strategic plan that outlines the mission, vision, guiding principles, values, and goals that will guide the work of the agency. The strategic plan is the result of a comprehensive process that prioritizes input from Oklahomans representing communities statewide.
