Step 4: Create Project Budget
In creating the budget for your project, common expenses include: Artist fees, facility/space costs, technical fees, printed materials, marketing costs, travel, security, insurance. It is common for your project budget to include income such as: ticket sales, private sponsorships, grants, vendor or artist fees.
If you are applying for an Oklahoma Arts Council grant, take time to read and understand the budget requirements. Funds from the Oklahoma Arts Council can help support your project, however the funds must be directed towards eligible expenses. For example, a grant from the Oklahoma Arts Council can supplement the expense of the artist fees for your project; however, the grant cannot pay for the food costs if you have a reception as part of your event. Also, Oklahoma Arts Council grants cannot support events that are fundraisers for your organization.
