Dinah Lazarte
Dinah Lazarte is a Registered Nurse and Chief Quality Officer at Southwestern Medical Center in Lawton where she is responsible for ensuring the hospital is in compliance with regulatory standards for patient safety. A member of the First United Methodist Church, Lazarte serves on the Staff Parish Relationship Committee. She has been a longtime volunteer for Lawton’s annual International Festival, serving as Vice -Chair, Decorating Chair, and Stage Manager. Lazarte's parents were part of the founding group for the festival, which started in one room at the Lawton Public Library and is now a sprawling weekend event in Elmer Thomas Park.

Now in it's 44th Year, Lawton's International Festival was created out of a desire to promote greater of awareness and appreciation of Lawton's diverse heritage. The festival provides local ethnic and cultural organizations an opportunity to share traditions and aspects of their cultures. The festival is made possible through the volunteerism and participation of local schools, residents, civic organizations, and businesses. The multicultural celebration has evolved into a three-day event averaging 30,000 in attendance. Hear from key festival leaders on how this festival continues to evolve while developing community spirit.
